York Regional Chair Eric Joliffe
Eric Jolliffe joined the Board of Directors of Toronto Global in January 2025, bringing more than 40 years of experience in public service, law enforcement, and executive leadership. A respected municipal leader, he currently serves as York Regional Chair and previously spent a decade as Chief of Police for York Regional Police (2010–2020), where he led a workforce of over 2,000 and implemented nationally recognized safety and community engagement programs.
His tenure as Chief was defined by modernizing policing strategies, strengthening community partnerships, and advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives. Eric’s contributions to public service have been recognized through numerous honours, including the Governor General’s Order of Merit of the Police (O.O.M., M.O.M.), the Order of the City of Vaughan, and both the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond and Golden Jubilee Medals. In recognition of his impact, the York Regional Police Training Facility was named in his honour, and April 30, 2020, was officially declared “Eric Jolliffe Day” by York Regional Council.
Beyond law enforcement, Eric is an experienced executive with expertise in governance, performance management, and public-sector strategy. He holds a master’s degree in leadership from Royal Roads University and the Certified Municipal Manager (CMM3) designation. His governance experience includes serving as Vice Chair of the Ontario Honours and Awards Committee and chairing national and provincial law enforcement committees, including the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Victim’s Committee.
At Toronto Global, Eric applies his strategic leadership and public-sector expertise to advancing economic growth and investment opportunities in the Toronto Region. His guiding principle, “Deeds Speak,” reflects his commitment to action-driven leadership and meaningful community impact.
